No train: buses 302 and 309 serve the Princes Highway corridor. From Monterey's residential streets by car, the trip to Rockdale is 8–12 minutes depending on route. No toll roads. Street parking near the centre is the main option; Forest Road side streets are preferred by regular families.

Monterey occupies a quiet residential pocket between Brighton-Le-Sands and Ramsgate, with families who typically combine tutoring with sports training at the nearby Kyeemagh fields or Ramsgate Beach reserve. After-school scheduling is more relaxed than in denser suburbs, afternoon session slots from 4:00 pm onwards suit Monterey families well. The 302 bus provides a direct connection to Princes Highway, and many parents are comfortable with students travelling independently from Year 5 onwards given the straightforward route.
