For high-achievers · Year 11–12
Students who are enrolled in Extension 1 will be building off the Advanced course, and will be met with complex theorems, demanding strong problem-solving skills. This course is very challenging in nature, and at Smart Space we aim to simplify complex theory and application skills to ensure effective mathematical comprehension as well as rigorous practice. The following topics will be taught over the next 2 years, as followed by the 2024 Mathematics Extension 1 Syllabus.
For the select students that will take on Mathematics Extension 2 in Year 12, they will no longer be completing the Mathematics Advanced course and will only be completing Mathematics Extension 1 alongside it. This will be a rigorous course needing strenuous attention to detail alongside creative problem-solving skills. With only 5 topics taught over the final year, Smart Space's private lessons will hone our students' mathematical ability as well as mathematical knowledge. The following topics will be taught as follows by the Mathematics Extension 2 2024 Syllabus.
Our Study Support sessions are for our group enrolments: every group student gets a complimentary 3 hours per week of drop-in help alongside their weekly class.
For our senior group enrolments, Study Support doubles as exam preparation, with marking and targeted revision in the lead-up to assessments.
