How we assess
Each term, our Year 7–10 English group classes sit a viva voce — an oral exam where students talk through the term's texts and ideas with their tutor — alongside written tasks: extended responses, essays and creative pieces. We choose these formats because they mirror how English is assessed at school, and because explaining an idea aloud is the surest test of real understanding.
